THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a suspected case of human sacrifice, two women were found murdered and buried by a couple in Thiruvalla in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district, the police said on Tuesday. They were earlier reported to be missing.

Two women were found dead and buried by a couple in Thiruvalla, in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district, in what police believe to be a case of human sacrifice. They had previously been listed as missing.

The couple, known as Bhagaval Singh and his wife Laila, once operated a massage parlour at their home close to Aranmula in the Pathanamthitta district.

Kochi Police Commissioner C.H. Nagaraju confirmed that the two women were killed and buried by the couple.
"This was carried out as a part of a ritualistic sacrifice of humans. On the basis of one Shihab's statement, the couple was arrested, and now all three are being brought to their home. The man is a "vadiyar," or traditional doctor, and this is a highly intricate issue with many levels." "The woman's body who vanished last month will be unearthed and delivered to forensic specialists. The couple's assertion that the crime was committed for their financial benefit verified the statement that human sacrifice was the crime's stated motive "Nagaraju added.

Shihab alias Mohammed Shafi has reportedly been identified as the perpetrator of the two women's deaths, according to reports that have come to light.

First, he made a fictitious Sreedevi social media account, with which he befriended Bhagaval and Laila. He persuaded the couple that if they appeased a superhuman being named Rashid, they would prosper financially.

Shihab later meets the couple for the first time and introduces himself as Rashid, and the two of them get along well. He and Laila should have sex in front of Singh to debate the notion of a human sacrifice.

Shihab promised to return with a woman for the human sacrifice and showed up in August with a woman -- later identified as Rosalyn-- in tow.

Rosalyn was brought to the couple's home later by him on the pretence that she would receive Rs 10 lakh for appearing in a soft porn movie.

The accused trio then instructed Rosalyn to lie down on a bed, and while filming, they bound her to the bed. Soon after, Singh struck her in the head with a hammer.
