Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, have resolved a dispute between the two states over asset distribution that has been outstanding for more than two decades. On Thursday, the two states' leaders and officials met in this city to discuss their differences. Following the meeting, Pushkar Singh Dhami told reporters that it was resolved to conduct a joint survey of both states and that disputed land, comprising 1,700 dwellings, will be granted to UP. Uttarakhand's two damaged barrages (Vanbasa and Kichha) will be restored by the Uttar Pradesh government. In addition, the Uttar Pradesh government will pay the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation the unpaid Rs 205 crore. The Uttarakhand chief minister stated that both states will pay 50 percent of the home development liabilities. The Alaknanda Hotel in Haridwar will be handed over to Uttarakhand in less than a month, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in attendance. The Uttar Pradesh government would also donate Rs 90 crore to the Uttarakhand Forest Department in addition to handing the site of the Kichha bus stand to Uttarakhand.
