Uttar Pradesh: Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has suggested that Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, change his name to "Akhilesh Ali Jinnah."
Akhilesh Yadav has been a target of the BJP since he invoked Jinnah's name, along with those of Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters, to claim that they helped India gain independence and never gave up the battle earlier this month.
According to Maurya, who said to reporters, "Jinnah has risen to prominence as a result of the Samajwadi Party's appeasement policy. As a result, I advise Akhilesh Yadav to change his name to Akhilesh Ali Jinnah. He should also change his party's name to Jinnahwadi Party." Maurya also cautioned the Samajwadi Party that Jinnah would not be able to defeat them in the elections. He also went against Akhilesh Yadav for his party's ties to gangsters who later became politicians.
"He will not be helped in this election by (Mohammad Ali) Jinnah, Atiq Ahmed, or (Mukhtar) Ansari. The people of Uttar Pradesh have picked lotus as their state flower (BJP). The advantage is that it is possible to reach out to the people of the state in an honest manner. There used to be mafia and thugs here, but that is no longer the case, and the people are at peace "he stated. After losing elections in 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2019, Maurya alleged that the Samajwadi Party is panicking. "They should brace themselves for another defeat next year," he warned.
