Pope Francis's big statement on US-Iran tension, says 'war only brings death and destruction'

A lot of tension has been seen in the world since last year. But America has started the new year with a drone attack. Pope Francis, the greatest religious guru of Christians, has expressed concern about the growing tension between America and Iran. The Pope has called upon both countries to negotiate and exercise restraint. Pope Francis's statement came two days after the US attack on Iran.

If you don't know, let us tell you that Major General Qasim Sulemani, the head of Iran-backed Kurdish force, and Iranian militia leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were killed in the US drone attack on Baghdad Airport on Friday.

During his weekly address at St. Peter's Square in Vatican City on Sunday after this incident, Pope Francis named Iran, referring to the atmosphere without tension, that it can be felt in many parts of the world. He said, 'I call on all sides to adopt the path of dialogue and remove hostility. War only brings death and destruction. 'Tensions between the two countries continue to escalate following the US drone attack on the Iranian convoy on Sunday. In retaliation, Iran fired rockets at the US Army base camp and embassy in Iraq on Saturday night after top military commander Qasim Sulemani was killed in the attack. According to the Iraqi army, one rocket exploded in the premises of the Green Zone Enclave and the other near it. Iran has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack.
