Son shot dead father, mother over property dispute

Bareilly: A lawyer son shot dead his retired father and mother on Tuesday morning in Bahroli village under Mirganj police station in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. The father, who was worshipping in the morning at home, was first abused by the lawyer son and later the man shot both the father and the mother when the matter escalated. The elderly couple died on the spot. According to police, there seems to be a property dispute between the father and the son.

According to the police, the elderly couple Lalit Prasad Gangwar (76) and her wife Mohni Devi (70) were worshipping in the morning, and suddenly son Durvesh came and started swearing and abusing his parents. After the talk escalated, he fired, killing the elderly couple on the spot, and the accused fled. Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh arrived at the spot along with the Police Force as soon as the incident was reported.

SSP Sakhan said the accused was angry with the elderly parents over the division of property. He said that lawyer Durvesh lived in the teacher's colony of Mirganj with his wife and children. The accused son felt that the parents had given more property to his brother Umesh. Durvesh reached the village at 5 am and first grappled with the father and mother Mohni Devi, after which he shot and killed both.
