Lucknow: A female teacher had been working in 25 schools for several months and despite having a digital database, managed to extract a salary of Rs 1 crore. It may seem impossible, but this is true. Kasturba was a full-time science teacher working at Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGVB) and was working simultaneously in several schools in districts like Ambedkar Nagar, Baghpat, Aligarh, Saharanpur and Prayagraj. The case came up when a database of teachers was being created. Personal records of teachers, date of joining and promotion are required in the digital database of teachers on the Human Services Portal. Once the records were uploaded, it was found that Anamika Shukla was listed in 25 schools with the same personal details. Director General of School Education, Vijay Kiran Anand said that an investigation is going on to find out the facts in relation to this teacher. "It is amazing that teacher Anamika Shukla could do this even after real-time monitoring of the presence of teachers in primary schools of UP." In March, an officer who received a complaint in relation to this teacher said, "How can a teacher mark their presence in multiple places, when they have to register their presence online on Prerna Portal?" According to records in all schools, Shukla was on roll of these schools for more than a year. KGBV is a residential school run for girls from weaker sections, where teachers are appointed on contract. She is paid around 30,000 rupees every month. There is a Kasturba Gandhi School in each block of the district.
