Kolkata: West Bengal's ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) has resorted to virtual mediums to join party workers of the state keeping in mind the state assembly elections to be held within a year. No decision has been taken to postpone the election yet due to Coronavirus epidemic.

The state's CM and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to communicate with party legislators, MPs, district presidents and other leaders through video conferencing about the blueprint of the party's campaign for the 2021 assembly elections due this evening. In this high-level meeting, CM Banerjee will discuss the Corona crisis and the subsequent circumstances. 

Party sources said that TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee will formulate a new policy to engage with all the voters of the state ahead of the upcoming elections, as actions such as meetings, rallies can be completely banned in view of the Corona crisis. Sources further said that the party is planning to focus more on social media tools to reach the public. For this, workers will also be trained in using different technologies and running virtual campaigns to connect with voters in the districts.
