The boat capsized on Sunday morning at Lau Kahi village in The police station Motipur area of Bahraich. There were 19 people on board a boat trying to cross the Bhada river. Meanwhile, the boat overturned uncontrollably. All the people on board the boat were reportedly farming. 17 of them swam to save their lives. But one woman was killed and 2 people are still reported missing.
A team of divers, including the Flood PAC, rushed to the spot and efforts were made to rescue all the people. Other officials, including DM and SP, also reached the spot. The body of the deceased woman has been recovered. The search for the missing is still going on. According to the SP, 19 people were on board the boat. The body of 1 has been recovered.
