Delhi Government: Big Announcement May Be Made On Free Pilgrimage To Elders

Delhi government can also provide air travel to the elderly under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme. The Delhi government has sought information from various companies travelling by air on the fares of sacred shrines in South India. However, applications for train journeys are still continuing with the Delhi government. After the return of a thousand pilgrims to the Golden Temple in Amritsar, only one thousand pilgrims have received applications for the Golden Temple.

According to media reports, the next batch will be sent back to the Golden Temple at Amritsar by the Delhi government. On the occasion of the 550th light festival of Guru Nanak Dev ji being celebrated across the country, one thousand elders from Delhi will visit the Golden Temple and visit Guru Dham. After visiting the Golden Temple, a group of pilgrims will also visit the Wagah Border and Anandpur Sahib. Earlier, the Delhi government had taken 2000 passengers on two different routes under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Yatra scheme.

The first batch left for Amritsar on July 12. On july 20, the second batch of 1000 pilgrims visited Jammu Vaishno Devi and recently returned to Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on July 24. Kamal Bansal, chairman of the Delhi government's Pilgrimage Development Committee, said that the Pilgrimage Scheme is a huge success. Thousands of elderly passengers have already registered under the scheme.
