Will 'Kanwar Yatra' take place this year or not? UP govt files reply in Supreme Court

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government has filed its reply in the Supreme Court on the Kanwar yatra. The UP government has said that there will be no Kanwar yatra this year. UP government counsel Vaidyanathan said during a court hearing that all kanwar sanghs are ready to postpone the yatra. So this year there won't be a trip.

Uttar Pradesh lawyer Vaidyanathan said the government convened a meeting after the court order. All kanwar associations agree to postpone the visit. So this year there won't be travel. Tell us that the Kanwar Yatra in UP has been cancelled this year. Additional Chief Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal had informed in this regard on Saturday. He said the Kanwar associations have decided to cancel the yatra following an appeal from the state government. The Kanwar Yatra was scheduled to begin on July 25.

The month of Sawan begins on July 25. The month of Sawan is considered extremely sacred for Lord Shiva and his devotees. It is believed that Bholenath is very happy to worship Lord Shiva in the month of Sawan. Millions of devotees take out the Kanwar Yatra every year to please Lord Shiva.
