Uttar Pradesh: 67 ventilators remains unused for 1 year

Lucknow: Due to the second wave of corona epidemic, ventilators are currently in great need in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, many places do not have ventilators, but 67 new ventilators have been gathering dust since last year in the isolation ward campus of the Medical College in Firozabad. Dust is accumulated on them, they are not being used.

In this regard, dr. Alok Sharma said, "We are using all the ventilators we need, the rest of the ventilators are more than the number here, we have written to the government asking them to get up from here and send them wherever needed". Dr. Alok Sharma said 'last year we had ordered 114 ventilators, which have been used extensively, but there are still a lot of extras, a large number of them, and have also written to the government that they can be sent immediately if required in another medical college hospital'.

Further said "Coming to the corona isolation ward of the medical college, there are 172 beds. At present, the number of corona patients is about 152, who are admitted to the isolation ward, who need ventilators, are being given ventilators, but still, the ventilator is more than the number here, so they are keeping".
