Lucknow: A case of rape of a 20-year-old girl has come to light in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur on Thursday (June 30, 2022). The victim has lodged a complaint at the Majhagawan police station. According to the complaint, the girl's neighbour Zakir, along with his two accomplices, abducted her and held her hostage for six months and raped her. The victim has alleged that Zakir was also pressurising her to convert to Islam by changing her religion. According to media reports, the 20-year-old victim is a resident of Majhagawan village in Rath tehsil of Hamirpur district of UP. About six months ago, she suddenly went missing from her house and suddenly returned to her house yesterday. On reaching home, the girl narrated the whole incident to her family members. She then approached the police along with her family members and lodged a complaint against Zakir and his two associates Chandu, Sagir Mohammad. The victim has accused the three accused of kidnapping, abusing, sexually exploiting and forcibly converting to Islam. The victim told her family how Zakir and his two accomplices, Chandu and Sagir Mohammad, had sniffed the unconscious medicine and molested her. They then left her in Gurugram in an unconscious state. There she was imprisoned in a room. During these six months, Zakir raped the young woman several times with her and also put pressure on her to become a Muslim. He also threatened to beat her up and kill her if she resisted. According to the report, about six months ago, when the victim went missing from home, her family members had lodged a missing report with the Majhagawan police. Majhagawan police station in-charge Pandhari Saroj was quoted as saying that a case has been registered and an investigation will be initiated only after the medical test of the victim is completed.
