Lucknow: Former Team India cricketer Suresh Raina's uncle killer has been arrested on Sunday (July 18, 2021) after nearly a year. Chhajju alias Chhaymar, who was charged in a joint operation by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police and Punjab Police, has been arrested from his village. The accused was reportedly cutting the ferrari in his village Pachpeda in Beheri police station area of Bareilly district to avoid arrest. Chhajju alias Chhaymar told STF that he and his friends Mohabbat, Shah Rukh, Rashid, Aamir along with three women used to sell chadars and flowers in Shahpur Kauri Punjab. The men also had a tempo that made them roam with women in the surrounding areas. According to reports, the accused told STF that the women entered Suresh Raina's aunt Ashok Kumar's house on the pretext of selling flowers on the day of the incident and collected all the information. He then informed his gang members in this regard. Chhajju further said that his gang fled at night after robbing them of the jewellery and cash kept in the house. He said he had fled to Hyderabad after the incident. After staying in Hyderabad for a few days, he returned to his village in Bareilly. Some robbers entered the house of former cricketer Suresh Raina's aunt Ashok Kumar in Farial village of Pathankot on the night of August 19/20, 2020. Ashok Kumar was sleeping on the terrace with the family at that time. Meanwhile, the robbers attacked them with sharp weapons and rods.
