Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that there is a need for research or study on the devastation caused by floods in the state. Talking to the press before leaving Dehradun to meet the disaster affected people in Uttarkashi, CM Rawat said, "Relief work is going on in the state so far 17 people have lost their lives due to floods. The bodies of 11 of them have been recovered. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has said, "People build houses along the river and rain is the worst hit in these areas. People have to be cautious. Now the geologists will study why the disaster caused so much damage. There is a law on not building a house or shop on the river floor. But people need to be aware.' "Normally the cloud bursts at one place at the same time. But this time there are many clouds in different places of the state. It has to be studied too. The Government of Uttarakhand is in touch with the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The incident took place on the border of both the states," Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also held by CM Trivendra Singh Rawat. "The Centre has assured of assistance. Army helicopters are also assisting in case of need."
