Dehradun: At the behest of the Uttarakhand government, the battle has arisen. An order signed by the District Social Welfare Officer of Tehri Garhwal states that inter-caste and inter-religious marriages can prove to be very helpful for keeping the spirit of national unity alive and maintaining social unity. It has also been said to strengthen the feeling of unity in different families. On the other hand, some people see it as promoting 'Love Jihad'. The Social Welfare Department has announced that Rs 50,000 is provided by the government as an incentive to the inter-caste and inter-religious married couple of Uttarakhand to promote this type of marriage. In relation to inter-religious marriages, it is said to have taken place in a temple, mosque, church or other shrine recognized by the association or bureau. Application forms for this are also available free of cost. After registration of such marriages can be applied for the next one year. On this order, Suresh Chavanke, the editor-in-chief of 'Sudarshan News TV', tweeted and described this law as promoting jihad. He has asked in the tweet that the government reward of 50,000 is being given to those who do 'Love Jihad'? When all the states are making laws against 'Love Jihad', then why promote it in Uttarakhand?
