MLA Champion's license cancelled,probes began

Dehradun: The administration has taken a major action against MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion from Khanpur in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, who has been stranded in trouble since the video of the waving of arms went viral on social media. Three arms licences of the suspended champion from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been revoked. In addition, Haridwar District Magistrate Dipendra Chaudhary has issued a notice to Kunwar Pranab Singh Champ and sought a reply within 15 days.

District Magistrate Dipendra Chaudhary has cancelled the MlA champion's arms licences after the report of Haridwar's SSP Janmajay came to light. Recently, a video of the champion on social media went viral, showing him dancing with three pistols and an assault rifle. He was also seen drinking and swearing at his supporters in the video.

After the video of Kunwar Pranab Singh champion surfaced, Haridwar's SSP Janjanjay had issued an order to investigate the case. In reply to a question, DG (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar of Uttarakhand had said that MLA Pranab Singh champ and his family have also been ordered to investigate the violation of laws in issuing arms licences. If violations of laws are found, action will be taken against them.
