Shatrughan Singh appointed as chief advisor for CM Tirath Singh Rawat

Dehradun: Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat on Wednesday appointed retired IAS officer Shatrughan Singh as his chief advisor. Shatrughan Singh, a 1983 batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, resigned as chief information commissioner on Tuesday. After his resignation, he was being expressed the possibility of being conferred with a big position in the State Government.

Additional Chief Secretary (Secretariat Administration) Radha Raturi on Wednesday issued an order to appoint Shatrughan Singh as chief advisor. A temporary non-permanent (coterminus) post of Chief Advisor was created for Shatrughan Singh. His post will continue till February 28, the CM's will, his tenure, whichever is earlier. Shatrughan Singh took over as chief advisor only on Wednesday after the appointment order was issued. After assuming office, Shatrughan Singh paid a courtesy call on CM Tirath Singh Rawat. As a result, the two discussed contemporary issues in the state.

Shatrughan Singh is the second retired bureaucrat in CM Tirath Singh Rawat's office to express confidence. He has had a long administrative experience. He has been the Chief Secretary of the State. He has a lot of respect in the bureaucracy. According to official sources, Tirath wants to take advantage of Shatrughan Singh's administrative experiences to run the system of governance. The CM has also made IFS officer RVS Rawat his advisor before Shatrughan Singh. Rawat has been a PCCF. Harish Rawat held the post of Chairman, Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission in the government.
