Heavy Snowfall in Uttarakhand, schools will be closed in two districts

Dehradun: This cold weather is increasing day by day, everyone has deposited in today's time, everywhere snow is seen only as snow, while in most parts of the state, the weather was bad on Friday. In the mountainous areas, the process of rain and snowfall started late on Thursday last night on Friday, 17 January 2020. Hundreds of villages have been isolated again due to heavy snowfall. But in view of the bad weather, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts have been declared a holiday in all government and non-government schools from class one to 12th on Saturday. Anganwadi centers will also be closed.

According to information received from sources, along with Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib in Chamoli district, about 85 villages have been imprisoned in snow. The Badrinath highway has been blocked again ahead of Hanuman Chatti, while the Malari highway has also closed due to snowfall ahead of Suranithota. Due to rain in the lower valleys of Uttarkashi district and snowfall in the higher reaches including Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham, the marginal district is again in the grip of cold wave.

For your information, let us tell you that white sheets of snow have been laid again in areas with an altitude of more than two thousand meters above sea level. In Rudraprayag district, including Kedarnath Dham, there has been heavy snowfall in Madmaheshwar, Tungnath, Chopta etc. At the same time, more than fifty villages in the district have come under snow again. About four feet of new snow has accumulated in Kedarnath Dham in the last 24 hours. There is already a lot of snow here. All the construction sites, including the temple complex, the temple route, are covered with snow. The district headquarters Rudraprayag has lost contact with Dham. At the same time, reconstruction work is also stalled.
