October 31 is celebrated as National Unity Day across the country. National Unity Day is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the country's great freedom fighter. Sardar Patel played an important role in the independence of the country and subsequently united the country. Vallabhbhai Patel was born on 31st October 1875 in the Nadiad district of Gujarat. On the birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel, all the celebrities have paid homage to him.

He got the word Sardar to his name because of his excellent image and became known as Sardar Patel. Patelji has been the First Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India. In a mark of immortality, in 2014, the Government of India announced to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as National Unity Day.

 

On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, Home Minister Amit Shah attended the unity parade organized at the Statue of Unity.
