New Delhi: Across the nation, 'Veer Bal Diwas' was celebrated, marking an important event in Sikh history. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led an event in the capital, emphasizing the pride Indians take in their heritage. He highlighted that the world now perceives India in a different, more positive light. During the event commemorating the martyrdom of Sikh Guru Sri Gobind Singh's two sons, PM Modi reiterated his vision for a new India. He expressed the country's growing confidence in its people, their potential, dreams, and aspirations. "'Veer Bal Diwas' signifies a collective national desire to preserve and uphold the essence of Bharatiyata," stated Prime Minister Modi. He also mentioned that this year, nations like America, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the UAE, and Greece organized programs related to 'Veer Bal Diwas.' Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute, acknowledging the unparalleled valor of the martyrs, remarking that their sacrifice would serve as an eternal inspiration for future generations. "On Veer Bal Diwas, I pay homage to Guru Gobind Singh Ji's four Sahibzade and Mata Gujri Ji. Their unwavering courage against the oppressive Mughal rule, refusing to yield and embracing martyrdom, remains etched in history," said Home Minister Amit Shah. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Tila Sahib Gurdwara in New Tehri to offer his respects on this occasion. A digital exhibition narrating the life and sacrifices of the Sahibzades will be showcased in schools and childcare institutions nationwide. Additionally, a film focusing on 'Veer Bal Diwas' will be screened across the country. To commemorate the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on January 9, 2022, Prime Minister Modi declared December 26 as 'Veer Bal Diwas' annually, in remembrance of the martyrdom of his sons Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. Various online competitions, including interactive quizzes, will be conducted through the MYBharat and MyGov portals to engage audiences and foster awareness about this significant day.
