Kolkata: The political struggle started on farm bills is still going on. BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has challenged West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee to prove that two bills related to agriculture sector will harm farmers. Parliament has recently passed these Bills. According to media reports, Kailash Vijayvargiya alleged that the Trinamool Congress became restless after the passage of the Bills in Parliament, as the party patronizes middlemen who deprive farmers of the Minimum Support Price (MSP. Mamta Banerjee has claimed that the bill will deprive farmers of MSP and take the country on the path of starvation. To this, the BJP leader said in a press conference in Asansol in West Bardhaman district that, "After the bill is passed, small and marginal farmers can sell their crops elsewhere in the country and this will increase their income." He alleged that this has angered the leadership of the Trinamool Congress, as party-backed people buy crops directly from farmers in various parts of the state at very low prices. Vijayvargiya alleged that, 'If the oppression of the farmers stops, Mamata Banerjee's party will be angry. She only give statements on the problems of the farmers.
