WFI angry with Vinesh Phogat due to this reason

Vinesh Phogat, the only Indian woman wrestler to be selected for the Tokyo Olympics, has left the national camp citing health concerns amid the Corona epidemic, a decision that has angered the National Federation. National camp for Olympic weight class wrestlers will start from September 1 in Lucknow (female) and Sonipat (male). However, Vinesh was not comfortable about traveling to Lucknow, as she is worried about her health in the middle of Corona.

Vinesh said, 'I am not going to participate in the camp. I am practicing every day with coach Om Prakash, who follows that plan. Whom my private coach Wooler Echos sends to me every week. The condition is not good for traveling to Lucknow.' The World Championship 2019 bronze medal champion said that she gets sick very easily, so she does not want to take any risk regarding her health.

Explaining further, she said, 'My stomach is very sensitive. You cannot get out of the Sports Authority of India Center in Lucknow, so you cannot bring the things you need. In Lucknow, cases of infection are increasing, but the situation is safe here in Haryana, so I am more comfortable here.' The Indian Wrestling Federation, however, is not affected by the reasons for the Asian Games gold medal champion. WFI Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar said, 'The selection committee will decide whether Vinesh will get the exemption or not. The same is to see now whether Vinesh gets a discount or not.'
