West Bengal: Protest against CAB continues, Mamata's appeal did not work

Kolkata: Even after the appeal of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act continue in West Bengal on Sunday. Protesters carried out a street fire incident on Raghunathganj in Murshidabad district, Harishankarpur in Domkal and on number 34 National Highway. Fierce protests were also held at the police station Katkhali of Raghunathganj.

People came to streets of Delhi against Citizen Amendment Bill

At present, rail traffic from Lalgola to Palais and Farakka to Azimganj in Murshidabad district has been closed. TMC workers protested violently against the CAA and NRC in Jaipur in the Bankura district this morning. People of the area also participated in it. The protesters lit a fire on the route from Vishnupur to Jaipur and stopped all the vehicles coming and going.

It is alleged that during this period the agitated people set fire to the local BJP office. There have also been reports of violent clashes between Jaipur police and protesters who reached the spot to bring the situation under control. According to the information, a civil police worker was injured in the clash. He is being treated at the Primary Health Center in Jaipur block. Protests still continue in Bengal.
