BIJNOR: An absconding criminal, Aditya Rana, carrying a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh, was shot dead in a police battle on the Budhanpur road of Seohara police station around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12. In the altercation, six police officers suffered injuries. The CHC Seohara has received all of the injured patients. Aditya, a native of Rana Nangla Bijnor, has more than 40 cases, including murder and robbery, registered in several police stations. The police said that on August 23, 2022, they shifted Aditya Rana from the jail in Lucknow to Bijnor so that he could testify in a case that had been reported to the Shivala Kalan police station.Aditya Rana was able to escape the Red Chilli Dhaba in Shahjahanpur while returning from there by avoiding the cops. Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, the superintendent of police, said that the SOG team learned late at night that Aditya and his companions were travelling to Budhanpur. Aditya fired shots at the team when they challenged him, starting the confrontation. More than eight members of the Aditya gang have been detained by the police thus far. They include Chandraveer Bittu, his brother and the village chief.
