HYDERABAD: Pooja Bhatt, an actress and director, briefly joined Congressman Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra on Wednesday as it restarted in Hyderabad. After the Congress MP resumed the rally from Balanagar following the overnight stop at Bowenpally, Bhatt followed him for a short distance. The foot march proceeded in Hyderabad for the second day in a row. A. Revanth Reddy, the chairman of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), MP Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, several other leaders, and several party members took part in the yatra. For a mid-day break, the procession would stop at a hotel in Hafeezpet, Madinaguda. The evening walkathon will start at the BHEL bus stop and stop at Muthangi for a corner meeting. In the meantime, Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, spoke with Yatris in Bowenpally. "They also are walking 3500 kilometers with Rahul Gandhi and are a source of great inspiration to our party cadres. The Bharat Jodo yatra is bringing about a silent revolution that will change the political scenery," tweeted Kharge. Along with Rahul Gandhi, the newly elected party president joined the yatra last night and spoke at a public gathering in Necklace Road. Due to the Yatra, the Madhapur traffic division has been placed under traffic restrictions by the Cyberabad police. Traffic barriers will be in place until six o'clock. In Telangana, Wednesday marks the eighth day of the yatra. With a day off on November 4, the foot march in Telangana will go on till November 7. It will travel 375 kilometers across 19 Assembly and 7 parliamentary districts in the state. The yatra will enter Maharashtra from Telangana.
