Indore: Main pipeline of Narmada Phase-III burst, shocking video goes viral

Indore: At 7.55 am on Tuesday, the main pipeline of Narmada Third Phase burst near the Gamle Wali Puliya in the Rajendra Nagar area, causing water to flow suddenly, leading to the appearance of a fountain. About 8 MLD of water flushed away due to a pipe burst for about four and a half hours in this area. As soon as the corporation officials received the news of this burst, the pumps were sealed from Jalud, but by then a lot of water had flowed into the drain.

On Tuesday, 45 water tanks in the city could not be filled due to a leakage of the Narmada line. On Wednesday, the water supply will be affected in large parts of the city. According to Sanjeev Srivastava, executing engineer of the Narmada project, the leakage occurred in the MS pipe of Narmada Phase III. Generally, when iron pipes are laid, one pipe is holed from the top of the pipe to connect it to another pipe. From there, the man goes inside the pipe and does welding on the connecting parts of the pipe. After that, the part from where the hole is made on the pipe is closed by welding it with a plate.

Due to the uprooting of the plate part of the pipeline on Tuesday morning, there was leakage in the pipeline and water flowed. After emptying the water accumulated in the pipeline, the repairing work of the pipeline was done by Ramki Company in the afternoon. According to Narmada Project officials, the water supply in the city will be affected only for one day. In such a situation, water will be supplied to many people through water tankers and boring.
