New Delhi: On Tuesday (January 3, 2023), PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the 108th Indian Science Congress Association. Addressing the ceremony through video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi said that the role of India's scientific power will be very important in the height at which India will reach in the next 25 years. When the determination to serve the country is combined with the passion in science, the results also become phenomenal. He said that in 21st-century of India, we have an abundance of data and technology. It can take India's science to new heights.

In the program of the Indian Science Congress, Prime Minister Modi said that the scientific approach with which today's India is moving forward, we are also seeing its outcomes. In the field of science, India is rapidly joining the top countries of the world. He said that in the field of science, India occupies a place among the top 10 countries of the world. Prime Minister Modi said that till 2015, India was in 81st place in the Global Innovation Index of 130 countries, and in 2022 we have reached 40th place. He said that India is among the top three countries in Ph.D. and startup ecosystem.
 
Prime Minister Modi said that this time the theme of the Indian Science Congress is also such a topic, which is being discussed the most in the world. He said that the future of the world is secure only with sustainable development and you have linked the topic of sustainable development with women's empowerment. He said that practically also these two are related to each other. Today, society and science are progressing with the participation of women. Prime Minister Modi said that today the country's thinking is not only to empower women through science but also to empower science with the participation of women. He said that our aim is to give a new impetus to science and research. He said that science endeavors can turn into significant breakthroughs only when they leave the lab and reach the ground and their impact stands from global to grassroots.
