Kolkata: During the day-night test match between India and Bangladesh in West Bengal's capital Kolkata, 5 bookies have been arrested. 3 of the arrested bookies have been arrested from the Eden Gardens. It is alleged that all these accused were betting through the mobile app. Two associates of these bookies have been arrested from the southern area of Kolkata, Sadar Street. A senior police officer has confirmed this. Kolkata Police have arrested Sambhu Dayal, Mukesh Gere and Chetan Sharma under Andy Rowdy section. Police say that they had received information that only a few people from the spectators present in the stadium are doing live betting. Police officer Eden Gardens was monitored on F-1 block and G-1 block. As soon as the suspicion of the policemen was confirmed, three bookies were arrested from the police gallery. As soon as these accused were caught, in the meantime, the police officers caught Abhishek Suvalka and Ayub Ali from a hotel. Both were betting from a hotel. According to the police, Rs 1,40,000 from bookies, 6 mobile phones, a laptop have been recovered from the hotel. Police has confiscated all the material.
