Why are there 17 rapes every day in Rajasthan? CM Gehlot said- Only relatives do...

Jaipur: After the data of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) came out, a statement from Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has come out, which can cause controversy. CM Gehlot has said that most of the incidents of rape are done by relatives. Gehlot said that 56 per cent of women's criminal cases are reported fake. During this, he patted his police on the back and said that the police here are doing a good job. Due to this, the crime graph of Rajasthan is much lower than other states.

However, recently the figures released by NCRB refute the claims of CM Ashok Gehlot. According to the report, Rajasthan has registered an increase of 15.3 per cent in female crime in 2021 relative to the year 2020. According to this NCRB report, Rajasthan tops the country in total rape cases. According to the latest data, 5,310 rape cases were registered in Rajasthan in 2020, while in 2021, 6,337 rape cases were registered in the state, which is the highest in the country. Accordingly, 17 women are raped or gang-raped every day in Rajasthan.

On these figures, Gehlot says that earlier in Rajasthan, the complainants were returned from the police station itself, their FIR was not even registered. At the same time, people did not come to the police stations due to a lack of action and fear of slander. CM Gehlot claimed that after the formation of the Congress government in the state, there has been a lot of improvement in it. Now the complainants have started coming to the police fearlessly. Immediate action is also being taken on their complaints. This has instilled fear among criminals and instilled confidence in the general public. Giving a statement on the statistics of rape in NCRB, CM Gehlot questioned who commits rape after all. He himself answered it. He said that most of the rape incidents are carried out by the relatives and acquaintances of the victim girl.
