Will entire state to ensure BJP win in Karnataka: BS Yediyurappa

BANGALORE:  Prior to the Karnataka Assembly polls, Ex-Chief Minister and newly appointed member of the Parliamentary Board B.S Yediyurappa is set to embark on a statewide tour covering all the districts of the state in the coming three months, a report said.

Yediyurappa  on Saturday claimed that he will ensure thumping victory for the saffron party. Yediyurappa, who has been appointed to the party's chief decision-making bodies, the Parliamentary Board and the Election Panel at the national level, was seen sharing dais with PM Narendra Modi in the frontline in Mangaluru on Friday.

During PM Modi's last visit to Banglore and Mysuru , Yediyurappa was only seen at the airport receiving him and could not be seen anywhere during his two-day visit on the occasion of celebration of International Yoga Day.

According to BJP sources, seating arrangements this time around were set with the Prime Minister's preferences in mind. Prime Minister Modi was seen holding hands of Yediyurappa at the time of his visit and talking to him dearly.

Yediyurappa promised to meet with Prime Minister Modi following the event. The sources said that the Prime Minister took him to the event and made sure he sat in the front row.  Yediyurapppa attended the function organoised by the governemnt without an invitation and protocol was also not observewd. He was seated next to the Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot.

Yediyurappa told reporters in Shivamogga that he will go around the state to ensure the party's victory in the upcoming assembly elections for 140 seats.

He siad: "Out of the 224 assembly districts in the state, the prime minister wants to win 140 of them. We were informed by Prime Minister Modi that he will also show up for the campaign. After the 2023 elections for the next parliament, we will establish a government in the state." After speaking with party leaders, he further declared that he will call for a rally of 1 lakh people in Shivamogga shortly.
