Woman drugged, gang-raped in Firozabad

FIROZABAD:A woman in Uttar Pradesh is accused of being given sedative-laced water before being gang-raped by four men in a hotel.

The incident came to light when the victim approached the Tundla police station to complain about the accused.  She said in her complaint that on November 7 she received a call from Deepak Yadav, who she already knew, near Tundla station, and took her towards Agra in a car.

Deepak forced her to drink water laced with sedatives as they were driving, which caused her to lose consciousness after 10 minutes. The victim claimed that she was gang-raped by the four suspects, Abhay Pandit, Deepak, Sagar, and Sourav, at a hotel close to Agra Basai Chowki while she was asleep.

The woman said that the accused also recorded an explicit video of her and demanded Rs 20,000 to remove it from his phone.

Next day, however, Abhay called the victim once more and threatened to post the video on social media if she told anybody about the situation. He blackmailed her and then raped her once more.

The in-charge of Tundla police station Pradeep Kumar said: "A gang rape case has been reported. The victim is being brought for a medical evaluation while her statement is being recorded."
