Women's T20 World Cup: England beats Thailand, Captain knight hits unbeaten century

With the first century in captain Heather Knight's T20 international, England won Thailand by a record 98 runs in the ICC WOMAN T-20 World Cup on Wednesday, today, 26 February 2020. At the same time Knight scored an unbeaten 108 off 66 balls. She has become the fourth batsman to score a century in this competition. England scored 176 for two on being invited to bat first, their highest score in T20 internationals. Knight made an unbroken 169-run partnership for the third wicket with Nat Siver (59 not out) during her innings, the largest partnership for any wicket in the history of the Women's T20 World Cup.

Let us tell you that Thailand only managed 78 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs and in this way England's win by 98 runs became the biggest win of the tournament. England did not start well though and at one time their score was seven runs for two wickets. Both England openers Amy Jones and Danny White could not open the account.

According to reports, Knight and Siver took over after this. Knight hit 13 fours and four sixes in his innings. Siver played 52 balls and hit eight fours. Only three batsmen from Thailand reached double digits, with Nathkan Chatham scoring the highest 32 runs. For England, the other Shrubsole took three wickets for 21 and Siver took two wickets for five runs.
