VARANASI: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today March 24, that India had made remarkable progress in the eradication of Tuberculosis mainly due to public participation. Addressing the One World TB Summit, PM said that the community initiative was appreciable and had yielded good results. "Even if World sets a target to end Tuberculosis by 2030, India has resolved to end the disease by 2025. We are working on a strategy to trace, track, and offer treatment which has shown remarkable results," he said. The Prime Minister said that India had used an integrated app to fight Tuberculosis. "This is a new approach to the global TB war. We have leveraged people's participation, increasing nutrition, treatment innovation, wellness and prevention to combat TB," he said. He further said, "TB Mukt Panchayat is a great initiative. As part of this effort, each village panchayat representative will adopt a resolution declaring that their communities will be TB-free. There aren't any TB patients at all in any village." The Prime Minister further said that the 'One World TB Summit' India is fulfilling another resolution of Global Good. "It is a matter of happiness that this summit is taking place in Kashi. India took the initiative to advance the "One Earth, One Health" vision some time ago, and through the "One World TB Summit," India is currently carrying out another Global Good resolve "the PM said, adding that, in the last nine years, India has worked together on various fronts in its fight against TB. "They have adopted about 10 lakh TB patients. Even young kids have broken their piggy banks to pay for TB patients' medical care. This civic endeavour deserves praise. We are also focusing focus on places where the number of instances is larger. What we must do is assist in eradicating the disease's stigma, "PM said. "We have pursued the trace, test, track, treat and technology package to win this war, and technology is being used to slow the spread of TB and shorten treatment times, he ended.
