Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath government will present the first full budget of its second term in the House on Thursday, May 26. It will already see the government through the budget trying to fulfil most of the schemes and promises included in the 'Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra' placed among the people during the elections. The blueprint for the Budget has been prepared. The focus is projected to be on farmers, women, youth. The size of this full budget for the year 2022-23 is expected to be around Rs 6.10 lakh crore. Of this amount, about Rs 1.25 lakh crore (capital item) will be for development works and new schemes. This could be the largest-sized budget of the state so far. The finance department was also active on Tuesday to finalise the budget. According to sources, the state government's budget will show the imprint of sankalp patra this time. More than 70 per cent of the announcements and schemes of the state government included in the resolution are being taken up in the budget. Funds will also be arranged for ganga expressway and defence corridor. The most important announcement of the state government's sankalp patra is that the budget can be the provision of free electricity for irrigation to the farmers. This time too, the government can focus its first budget on farmers like the previous government. The state government will have to spend an additional about Rs 1800 crore annually on providing free electricity for irrigation. The announcement to set up the Bhamashah Price Stabilisation Fund to ensure minimum prices for farmers' crops like potatoes, onions and tomatoes is also expected to be a part of the budget.
