Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday reached the popular Danteshwari temple in the state's naxal-affected district of Dantewada. Here he climbed an 11 km long chunri in the temple of the mother. According to officials, this red chunri is the longest chunri ever offered in this temple. This chunri has been specially made in the Danex Nava Garment Factory to offer it to Mother Danteshwari. 300 women from Danex have prepared this chunri in a week. The names of the danex women are now recorded in the world record. Earlier, Narmada Maiya was covered with an 8 km long chunri in Mandsaur.
The same CM Baghel had come here as part of his assembly-wise mass contact campaign 'Meet Meet'. Here he offered prayers at the temple of Mother Danteshwari Devi. Due to this, chunri was climbed. CM Baghel said, "Bastar is a place of natural beauty and brotherhood of which Dantewada is a part. People here are tired of the bloodshed and want peace. The region is returning to peace.
Referring to naxalism, Chief Minister Baghel said that police surveillance has been intensified. Earlier, where bullets and explosions were common, now he is known for initiatives like Danax. CM Baghel said that due to the people-centric works and schemes of our government, there has been a change here. He said that now these schemes are reaching even in remote areas of Bastar. He said that work is also being done to provide employment and encourage people to take up self-employment and this is a way to deal with the problem of naxalism.
