New Delhi: Trinamool Congress leaders on Tuesday raised a protest in opposition to the proposed Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance (FRDI) bill here.

The party leaders showed hoardings that read: "Withdraw draconian FRDI Bill", at Mahatma Gandhi's statue during the winter session of Parliament.

Elder party leaders Derek O'Brien and Sudip Bandyopadhyay joined the protest, asking the extraction of the FRDI bill.

Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Leader On Saturday, expressed the bill as the "major attack" on the financial security of the underprivileged and the middle classes and has demanded the Central government to take out the legislation.

The FRDI Bill, 2017, bring in the Lok Sabha on August 10, 2017, is being well thought-out by a parliamentary working group.

The TMC has issued a notice for debate on FRDI bill in Lok Sabha as FRDI Bill in the line of fire.TMC MPs protest against FRDI bill, calling the FRDI bill anti-people, the Trinamool Congress and other Opposition parties are all set to angle the government over the law.

on the other hand, The Congress has moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha in search of an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remark on Manmohan Singh.
