Jabalpur: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday slammed chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over the urea scam in Jabalpur. The promptness showed that the investigation teams started the raid and also found 130 metric tonnes of urea out of the missing 1,020 tonnes of urea.

According to the news received, in this raid of the administration, a part of the stock of government urea was found in Gayatri Warehouse located on Khajri Khiria Bypass in Jabalpur and DPMK Warehouse on Patan Road. The rest of the missing urea is also suspected to be in private warehouses in Seoni, Chhindwara and nearby cities. Action has been taken by the administration after receipt of urea. On the instructions of the Collector, the District Marketing Officer has lodged an FIR at Lordganj police station. An FIR has been registered against Rajendra Chaudhary, marketing director of Krishak Bharti Co-operative Society, Dwarka Gupta, transporter of DPMK Fertilizer and Jaiprakash Singh, state manager of rack handler, among others. Lordganj police station has registered an offence against all the criminals under sections of the essential commodities act and criminal conspiracy.

It is worth mentioning that 2 thousand 666 tonnes of urea was allocated from the central government in Jabalpur to get urea to the farmers. According to the rules, 70 per cent of this was to be given to government agencies and 30 per cent to traders for sale in the open market. But instead of taking this government urea to Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni and Chhindwara districts, Krishak Bharti Co-operative Limited, the agency handling this work, disappeared on the way and sent it to private warehouses. On Friday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had instructed for strict action in the matter by video conferencing with the Jabalpur Divisional Commissioner amid the uproar over the disappearance of 1020 metric tonnes of government urea.
