Lucknow: A shocking incident has come to light from Lucknow, the capital of UP. A 10-year-old girl committed suicide after her mother scolded her for playing games on her mobile phone in the Para area, police said on Sunday. The incident took place at Baldev Khera in Para. The deceased girl has been identified as Harshita Vajpayee, who lived with her mother. Her father died a few years ago.
Harshita was studying in 6th grade and she was not interested in studies. She often used to play games on her mobile, about which her mother Neetu used to scold her. Last Tuesday, Neetu scolded her 10-year-old daughter while refusing to play online games and then went to work at others' homes.
Harshita's mother Neetu used to work in others' houses to earn a living after the death of her husband. When Harshita's mother went to work, she committed suicide by hanging herself in the room. When Neetu returned from work, the ground under her feet slipped. On receiving the news of suicide, the police reached the spot and took possession of the body, and sent it for postmortem. Para police station in-charge Tej Bahadur Singh said that a 10-year-old girl has committed suicide, which is being investigated.
