On Friday, Mayor Bontu Rammohan said that 1,000 modern bus shelters are being built throughout the city for the convenience of bus passengers. The mayor has opened six such modern bus shelters in Thelsukhnagar Division.
During the inauguration of the bus shelters, he said that 1,000 modern bus shelters would be built in the city as part of improving urban infrastructure. The idea is to make travel more convenient by setting up bus shelters with better and better facilities. Already 292 modern bus shelters have been opened throughout the city.
However, these bus shelters developed in public-private partnership mode include toilets, drinking water, mobile charging points, Wi-Fi, dustbins, CCTV cameras, A-C sitting areas, and security guards along with ticket counters.
