Ahmedabad: With 1,101 new cases of corona in Gujarat on Sunday, the total number of patients in the state increased to 86,779. According to the state health department, 14 more corona patients, 5 people have died in Ahmedabad during this period, including 2,897 people have lost their lives in the state. The Health Department further informed that on Sunday, 972 patients from Akaz Hospitals of the state have been discharged after recovery. With this, so far 69,229 people have defeated this infection in the state.

14,653 patients are undergoing treatment. According to the department, the rate of recovery of infected people in the state has reached 80 percent. Among the new cases revealed on Sunday in the state, 177 patients are from Ahmedabad alone. So far, 30,197 people have been confirmed infected with corona infection in Ahmedabad district. The Health Department has said that five more patients died due to corona in Ahmedabad. So far 1,685 corona patients have died in the district. During this time, 172 infected in Ahmedabad were discharged from hospital after recovering. So far 25,104 infected have been cured in the district.

The Health Department has further stated that out of 177 new cases reported in the district, 153 are from Ahmedabad city, while 24 cases have come from the rural areas of the district. The department said that all 5 deaths recorded in Ahmedabad are from urban areas. According to the release, 60,808 samples have been investigated in the last 24 hours. In this way, 935.50 samples are being tested every 10 lakh population. So far 17,56,133 samples have been investigated in Gujarat.
