Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will set the cornerstone of the country's first bullet train  with Japan's PM Shinzo Abe. This bullet train project, which runs from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, has been targeted to be completed by 2022.

If everything goes according to the plan, then the country's first bullet train will start running on the 75th anniversary of Independence i.e. on August 15, 2022.

The bullet train will be built with the help of Japanese loan: The project is cost Rs.1.88 billion and is being made almost entirely with the help of Japanese loan. For the project, Japan will give India a loan of 0.1 percent i.e., 88,000 crores. 750 passengers can travel together in bullet train: Bullet train running at a speed of up to 350 km per hour will run on the elevated lines. There is a capacity of 750 passengers to board the bullet train.

The longest tunnel will be 21 kilometers long, in which 7 km across Thane Creek will be within the sea.

Where to Build Station: There will be 12 stations for the train running between Mumbai's Bandra Kurla complex and Sabarmati near Ahmedabad. In which Mumbai's station will be underground and the remaining will be elevated. The stations will be built in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimoria, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane, and Mumbai. 

Bullet Train: Reliance Infrastructure will be co-partner of the project
