New Delhi: On Monday, on the first day of the start of the second phase of coronavirus vaccination in the country, 128630 people over 60 years of age have taken the first dose. At the same time, 18850 people aged 45 years and above have taken the first dose of the vaccine. Combining both figures, 147480 people have been vaccinated on the first day of the second phase. The Health Ministry said that after the process of registration started on Monday at 9 am on the Co-Win website, 25 lakh beneficiaries got registered.
There are 24.5 lakh common citizens among the registrants and the rest are health workers and advanced personnel. On Monday, 6.44 lakh bookings were made by the beneficiaries to get the vaccine installed. The ministry said that, according to the provisional report received till 7 pm on Monday evening, a total of 14728569 doses of the vaccine have been given so far. The ministry further said that 427072 doses were given till 7 pm on Monday, the 45th day of nationwide vaccination. The 14728569 doses include 6695665 health workers who have taken the first dose, while 2557837 health workers have taken the second dose.
The vaccination has been started in the country on 16 January. Health workers were vaccinated in the first phase. After this, the second phase of vaccination has started on Monday 1 March. Those who are over 60 years old and 45 years of age or more are participating in this phase.
