Remember in the Serial Jhansi Ki Rani, the young Lakshmibai. Ulka Gupta who play the act of Lakshmibai, sling to fame as the young Lakshmibai in 'Jhansi Ki Rani' when she was just 13-year-old.

However, instead of growing up on national television like most of the other child artistes, she stepped away from the spotlight to focus on her studies and other passions. And now, after a gap of almost three years, Ulka is all set to return to the small screen with another power-packed role.

The 20-year-old will be seen in the mythological drama, 'Shaktipeeth Ke Bhairav', in different avatars that of Adishakti, Parvati and Sati. Interestingly, Ulka says that she wanted to change her screen image by taking up a daily soap. Also, it's a matter of just one year as that's the duration of the show."On the other hand, she says, "I have grown up in a better way, without any stress. I got enough time to work on myself.

There were several offers in between, but I wanted to continue with my dance classes and my dad was only too happy to let me be. I agree that survival was difficult as serials are a better source of money, but for me, it's also about satiating my creative hunger. I was anyway a tomboy and my character in 'Jhansi Ki Rani' added to it. In fact, during auditions, people would tell me that I looked 'manly'. Though I hated such comments, I decided to work on myself, as acting is what I want to do."
