Dehradun: Two tourists who went to visit Joshimath from Delhi have found it hard to use Google Maps. Both tourists were preparing to go to Vishnuprayag, Google Maps also showed them a shortcut route that can be reached on foot. Now, these tourists continued to walk in the same direction as the map showed. But there it was found that the bridge was broken and there was no other way to cross. When they tried to leave, both the tourists fell from the mountain and were rescued several hours later.

It is being said that Deepika and Amit had left for Uttarakhand from Delhi. They reached there and visited many places. On Wednesday, the duo planned to go to Vishnuprayag in Joshimath. Google Maps showed a shortcut route and both tourists moved in that direction. Later they realize that the Bridge at Vishnuprayag had tumbled two years ago in bad weather. In such a situation, when both Deepika and Amit reached Vishnuprayag, their balance deteriorated and they were trapped on the river bank.

After that, at around 3.30 pm, the locals came to know about the incident and immediately informed the NDRF and the police. Based on that information, a rescue operation was started and after about 3 hours both tourists were safely evacuated. It is necessary to understand here that it is difficult to rescue anyone after getting down in the river during this season. Water is colder than ice, so all kinds of challenges arise. But the team rescued these two tourists in time and then the local people also helped them fully.
