The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently filed a charge sheet in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandreskwar naming Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez as an accused. The actress, whose name had cropped during the probe in the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), was summoned by the ED multiple times before that.

Jacqueline accused ED of malafide and said that even celebrities like Nora Fatehi also received gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar but they were treated as witnesses and only she was being accused. She said, "This clearly shows a malafide, motivated and biased approach on the part of investigation authority which cannot be ignored."

ED's earlier charge sheet did not mention her name as an accused but mentioned the detail of the statement recorded by Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi in the matter. Statements of Nora Fatehi were recorded under section 50 of PMLA, 2002 on 13.09.2021 & 14.10.2021 wherein she stated that she got a booking for a charity event and during the event, she was gifted a Gucci bag and one iPhone by Leena Paulose (Wife of Chandrashekhar).
