World-renowned automobile manufacturer BMW Motorrad India has teased its liter-class S 1000 XR on its social media channels. In such a situation, it is being speculated that the company can launch this bike by the end of June. The 1000 XR will conform to BS6 standards for 2020 and the company will offer a 999cc in-line four-cylinder motor, but it may miss BMW's shiftcam technology. In addition, an asymmetric bulb-type headlight setup can be given for the responsible LED units as seen in the S 1000 RR.

For your information, let us tell you that first start with its engine, it is the same 999cc inline four-cylinder engine that we see in the S 1000 RR. However, it will generate 165 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque, which we saw earlier. Talking about the electronic rider aids, the S 1000 XR will get features like traction control, wheelie control, engine drag torque control, a quick-shifter and hill start assist that comes with a 6-axis IMU. Its complete package will come with an aluminum composite bridge frame.

 

If you talk about the hardware in BMW S 1000 XR, then it can be given an electronic adjustable tension setup. In addition, a 45 mm USD front and rear can be given a monoshock taken from ZF in the front and rear. A 320 mm twin disc can be given in the front of the bike and a 220 mm single disc in the rear which can be of Hayes. Apart from this, the weight of S 1000 XR can be 10 kg more. The 2020 BMW S 1000 XR can be priced at Rs 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, it will compete with the Triumph Tiger 1200 and Ducati Multistrada 1260.
