USA: The functionality of WhatsApp's native iOS, Android and desktop apps is being improved. While some enticing features have already been made available to users everywhere, others are still in development or beta testing.
However, they will be made available in the coming weeks. Here are some new WhatsApp features which have been introduced recently or will be available in 2023.
Users will soon be able to send photos in their original quality through WhatsApp. This function is currently being built for desktop and Android users.
Soon, it will be available in the drawing editor. With the new capability, high-quality images can be shared in a lossless format while maintaining their resolution and clarity. However, users will continue to have the option of sending compressed images as needed.
WhatsApp can now share up to 100 media files at a time. Both the iOS beta and the stable versions of WhatsApp for Android support the feature now.
Up to 100 media files can be added by users (including both images and videos). Sharing entire albums with friends and family is now easier with a new feature.
Users of WhatsApp are able to post voice messages as status updates. Recent reports of the feature on WhatsApp for Android's beta channel.
On iOS and Android, it is now available in the stable app version. You can now record voice clips and post them. Touch and hold the "Microphone" icon in the text status section to record a message, then share it.

The option to design a unique avatar and set it as your profile picture has been made available by WhatsApp for iOS users. Android users already have access to this feature.
To set your custom avatar as your profile picture, simply go to Settings > Tap on "Avatar" > Create your custom avatar. Additionally, WhatsApp creates a sticker collection based on your avatar.
WhatsApp is working on enabling users to pin messages in private chats and group conversations. A client for Android is currently being developed for the new feature.
Thanks to the option to pin messages, users will find it easy to quickly find important messages within a conversation. To reach a specific message, they don't have to go through a tedious search process.
Users of WhatsApp are no longer able to capture screenshots or screen recordings of "Once View" images or videos. The recipient can't take a screenshot of a photo or video you've sent using the "Take a look" feature.
The error message "Screenshot blocked" will appear. The recipient of the 'View Once' message also does not have permission to screen capture, save or distribute the attached media.

WhatsApp is rolling out a new function called "Chat Transfer" for Android users. This will streamline the process of moving chats to a new phone, without using Google Drive or any other third-party data transfer techniques.
Currently working on the feature. It will soon be made accessible to a select group of Android beta users through a future update. Later, a wider rollout is anticipated.
