Thiruvananthapuram: With the arrival of 2,154 new cases of corona infection in Kerala on Sunday, a total of 73,854 people have been confirmed infected in the state so far. State Health Minister K.K. Shailaja has said in a statement that "With the death of 7 more people in the state today, 287 people have died due to Coronavirus so far. He said that out of the new cases, 49 people have returned from abroad, while 110 people have come from other states and 1,962 people have been infected by contacting other people in the state".

The minister has further stated that the dead include a 49-year-old worker from West Bengal, a 90-year-old woman and 3 residents of Kannur district. Minister K.K. Shailaja further said, "33 health workers have also become corona infected. On Sunday, 1,766 people have been discharged from hospitals after recovering. So far, 49,849 people have become corona free in the state. Currently, 23,658 infected people are under treatment. ''

In the country, cases of corona infection are constantly increasing. On Monday, the number of corona patients crossed 36 lakh. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, 78,512 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. During this period, a total of 971 people have died of this infection. According to the data of the ministry, so far 36,21,246 people have been affected by Corona in India. Of these, 7,81,975 are active cases and 27,74,802 patients have been discharged from hospital after treatment. On the other hand, 64,469 people have died due to Coronavirus so far.
