Chennai, a 22-year-old final year medical student at Madras Medical College died after undergoing hair transplant procedure. The deceased indentified as Santosh Kumar, has died 2 days after the surgery as a result of the surgery conducted at Advanced Robotic Hair Transplant Centre in Nungambakkam, Chennai.

As part of the surgery at the Advanced Robotic Hair Transplant Centre, Santosh received around 1,200 hair transplants.

Santosh's parents claimed that the doctors at the hair transplant centre were not surgeons and that they had gone missing ever since their son passed away.

Josbeen said her son had paid Rs 73,000 for the procedure.

It is being reported that his death was triggered by allergy to anaesthesia which went undiagnosed.

For now the authorities have sealed the centre. The drug controller has recovered a huge stock of medicines kept without licence.

The police have filed a case of suspicious death and are now working on exhuming Santosh's body since he was buried without a post mortem.
