A case of suicide has been reportedly taken by a youth from Village Sandhu Chatha under police station Sadar Kapurthala. In statements to the police, the deceased's brother Achhar Singh (recent resident Ludhiana) said that his mother is not already died a year ago and his brother Karamjit Singh (about 22 years) and his father Nachtar Singh lived in the house.

According to him, Karamjit Singh was mentally disturbed, so he tied a towel to the roof of the house room and took suicide. On learning about this, the body of the deceased was brought down and the police were informed through panchayat members and others in the village.

Meanwhile, sub-inspector Deepika, who was in charge of the spot, rushed to the spot along with the police party and the body has been taken into custody and kept in the mortuary. Sadar Kapurthala Gurdayal Singh and shocked in-charge Deepika have told the press that the statements of the family members are currently being recorded. He said the body is being sent to Government Hospital Kapurthala for postmortem and further investigation is going to be conducted only after the report is out.
